Residents in the village of It Could Not Aging


Nagoro, a small village in southern Japan has a uniqueness that makes people curious. Therefore, there is no population that is aging. They all look the same since 52 years ago.

Ayano is Tsukimi grandmother, 65 years old, which makes the people there look young. And he did it not by witchcraft or magic potion. That he had only a straw doll sewing ability.


Ets, do not get me wrong. So people there who can not instead of human aging, but rather a puppet or a scarecrow.


Total villagers Nagoro only 35 people. Many residents of childbearing age choose to go to town. So that is left in this village only those who have elderly. Even the village school was closed in 2012 and, after graduating students their last.


From there, Grandma Ayano, one of the residents 'youngest' in the village Nagoro initiative to make a scarecrow 13 years ago, which was originally to keep her garden birds from disturbance.


After realizing human-sized puppets that resembled his father, Ayano make more, and hooked up to now."In this village population of just 35 people. But now there are 350 scarecrow. So now the 'population' multiply," said Ayano.


Scarecrow is placed in various corners of the village. In the home, classroom, field, in trees, on the roadside and at the bus station.


Each scarecrow works Ayano is made of a wooden base with newsprint and cloth as its contents.


For doll clothes, Ayano using old clothes. While scarecrow outdoors given a plastic lid to keep them dry.But sometimes destructive weather scarecrow so that Ayano often replace them with new ones.


Ayano admitted that sometimes he makes a scarecrow on the basis of the order of the villagers. They usually asked for a doll similar to those who have died or who go to the city.


"Sometimes they asked for to remind the grandmother or grandfather them. So scarecrows can evoke memories," said Osamu Suzuki, one of the residents Nagoro.
