Wood carver Muslim Create Seats for Pope Vatican


Salem Hajdarovac, a wood worker Bosnian Muslims, the last week has been unable to sleep. He was still shocked. Just a surprise to him.

Without any premonition, Salem said given the honor to carve out a special chair which will be occupied by Pope Francis during his visit in Bosnia.

Hajdarovac, 61, and his son, Edin Hajdarovac, 33, is a devout Muslim. They began working on the chair on Monday orders in their small workshop in the city of Zavidovici.

They deliberately delaying other orders in order to produce a perfect seat when used on June 6.

Pope Francis will hold a Mass in Sarajevo in an effort to establish peace in the country that civil war two decades ago.

For decades, the workshop Hajdarovac has a lot to make souvenirs for visitors Catholic Medjugorje shrine. Not only that, they also make decorations for the church and the mosque. But family Hajdarovac assume the chair for Pope Francis as the peak of their careers.

"It makes me very happy, because it makes seats for people as it is something big and important," said Edin as quoted from page Alarabiya Dream, Saturday, April 4, 2015.

For now, Salem claimed to still keep the seat design that will be working on. To be sure the seat materials using wood of walnut trees. And will have reliefs depicting various religious symbols, such as the emblem of the Pope and the emblem of the three cathedrals in Bosnia.

The local pastor, Miro Beslic, raising funds to finance the purchase of his people while family Hajdarovacs material will make the seat without pay.

"The whole country being the financial crisis but when told that this was for the Pope, they immediately accept the proposed fundraising." (thff)
